One day a rabbit and a tortoise were fighting and decided to do a race to see which was the fastest. The race began and the rabbit arrived at the end of the race. He took a break and slept under a tree. The tortoise continued the race but she was tired. After an hour the tortoise passed the rabbit but the rabbit was asleep. The rabbit woke up but the tortoise finished the race. The tortoise won the race even if it slower than the rabbit. The tortoise was proud because she won a fast animal!
It was the 28th of July 2018, and my parents and I were on holiday in Andros, Greece. We spent the first day on the beach. When I got back to my room, I was really exhausted, so I ate something and I went to bed early. I had no idea that my first day in Andros was also my last!
Just after midnight, a strange noise woke me up. My room was flooded. My parents swam quickly in my room and we all swam out of the house. Lots of people were swimming in the flooded roads. It was too dangerous!
After a while, the water had dried up. We were trapped on the island because there wasn’t an airport or port anymore. Luckily, helicopters came and took us back to Mytilini. I can’t believe that Andros was destroyed. I feel so lucky that we lived to tell the tale.
One day an Indian boy talked with his old grandfather.”Son” the old Indian said, “there is a battle between two wolves in your heart the first wolf is bad and represents anger, jealousy, and every other negative feeling. The other wolf is good and represents happiness, peace and every other good feeling. The boy thought for a while the grandfather’s words and asked, “Which wolf wins” and the old man answered with a calm voice “The one you feed”.This is a good story. We have to think positive and let only the good feelings leading our heart. Only in this way we could be happy.
Hi guys! How are things? Today I want to talk to you about my class which came together for a special project. But let’s start from the beginning. It was a sunny day and I was doing maths, when suddenly the door of the class opened and our director came in and he told us: “You must come together to do a special project which will represent our school to a competition. We chose you because you’re the best class of our school with the best ideas. We were all happy and surprised too. The preparations start the same day because we had only one week to do the project. But the problem was one: each one wanted to write his or her idea on the paper for the project. It was so unbelievable because our class was special and we couldn’t work together and help each other. Our teacher was so angry with us that in the end, she left our class because she couldn’t “bring us round”. When we saw the door closed we were so sad because we were” fighting”. When we understood our mistake, we caught our hands each other and we said: We won’t do that again. We are so sorry and we promise that from now we will always help each other and work together. And do you know something? It doesn’t matter that we didn’t win the competition because we won something priceless: our friendship which was a near miss to lose it.
Theseus is one of the most famous heroes of Ancient Greece everyone knows his story, the trip from his birth city to Athens to meet his father, king of Athens Aegeus. Everyone knows about his labours how he killed very dangerous robbers on his way to Athens. Also, he is very known because of his journey to the island of Crete, to kill Minotaur, the monster who lived in the labyrinth, under the Cretan palace. Everyone knows about his Love Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos, who helped him to escape the labyrinth after he had killed Minotaur. And at the end of the myth, we know that he forgot to change the black sails of his ship to white. So his father believing that Theseus was dead, threw himself off a cliff into the sea, which was named after him Aegean sea. Most of us already know the story above, but actually, we know less about Theseus as the first king of Athens. After the death of King Aegeus, his son became the king of the city. Then he chose a very good place to build his town and made it a famous and strong city with big walls around it. He built a palace on the fortress of Acropolis and he made the big port of Piraeus.
As a king, he was good and fair with his people and he respected Gods. He was brave and clever, even he was a tragic person from his birth until his dishonest death by the king of Skirus island.
I am Duke and I want to tell you my story.
The story started from my house and I with my family planned to go on a holiday to Italy. So we travelled by plane and when we arrived our suitcases had disappeared. We were in shock but after a few minutes, our suitcases were found from the staff of the airport. Then we took a taxi to go to the hotel. But before we arrive the driver told us that the tyre from the taxi pierced. So we arrived at the hotel on foot. We were really tired and when we saw the hotel I could not believe my eyes.
Finally, during the holiday we did not have any problems. We were very frightened about the suitcases and the taxi also we were tired from the walk. But I was very happy because the holiday was not as boring as I thought.
Hi guys! How are things? I hope you’re well!!! Today I want to talk to you about a story of a young autistic boy called Ali. That story happened in Turkey many years ago, so don’t worry if you haven’t ever heard any name of the story. First, I want to tell you some specialities that the autistic people and especially Ali have: First, they don’t want anybody to touch them (the single person that Ali wanted to touch him was his brother), they can’t defend themselves, they don’t talk a lot, they all are genius and they want you to take care of them, to have faith to them. Nobody wanted Ali. Neither his classmates nor his parents. The single person that was taking care of him, that had faith to him was his brother. Ali loved him and his brother was doing whatever he could to see Ali happy. After a lot of time, Ali and his brother had an accident which costed his brother’s life. After that Ali’s parents took him to an orphanage. When Ali was a little child he wanted to be a surgeon and he had promised to his brother that he would be. And he managed it. He studied a lot and when a surgeon, doctor Adil visited him at the orphanage he became surprised. When Ali grew up doctor Adil who was taking care of him took him to the hospital he was working at to be the helper of another doctor, doctor Ferman. At first, nobody wanted him again except for a woman, doctor Nazli. After a long time they finally all understood that Ali was a genius and that he had always a solution to every problem in surges. Ali was living in the same block of flats with doctor Nazli. Nazli was taking care of him. She was cooking for him and she was generally trying to make everybody love Ali. Ali felt in love with Nazli but he didn’t know how to tell her that. He bought a beautiful rose and he told her it. And because of his love, he tried to overcome his problems and live like a normal person.
In China, an old woman every day used to carry water from a well, a long way to home. She had two pots hanging on a pole across her neck. One of the pots was perfect but the other was cracked. The perfect pot carried every day the whole portion of the water, but the cracked one was always half full at the end of her long walk. This was happening every day and at the end of the way, the perfect pot was very proud of carrying all the water home. It felt ashamed because it could do less than it had been made to do.
One day the pot spoke to the old woman and said “I am ashamed because my crack doesn’t allow me carrying full water at home. I apologise”. The old woman smiled and kindly answered that it didn’t matter, because she always knew about the defect of the pot.”Have you noticed that there are beautiful flowers on your side along the path, but hot from the other side?” she asked.
“While I knew the water is leaking of your crack, I planted some flowers on the ground. So as we keep going along the path you allow the flowers to have some water. It doesn’t matter that you arrive home half full, because you water the beautiful flowers. So you are not useless”.
MORAL=Nobody is perfect. But it is important to turn out our defeats to be good.
Once upon a time, there was a king who had three daughters. One day the king asked his daughters to tell him how much they loved him. The first one said that she loved him as much as gold and the king liked the answer. The second daughter told that she loved him as much as the sun and he liked her answer, as well. The last daughter told him that she loved him like salt and the answer displeased her father. The king got very mad.”How could you love me as much as something so common and cheap, that everyone, even poor people, could have? You don’t deserve to live with me” He said and forced her to go away.
She left the palace and she lived happily with her husband when one day the king stopped at their house to have rest during a trip. The couple welcomed the king and did their best satisfy him, preparing a meal. The hostess ordered not to put any salt in the food. When the king started his meal the food war absolutely unsalted, but when he asked for some salt their refuse to give. The king got angry:” How do you refuse to give a king something so important?” he said. Then his daughter uncovered her face and she said:” Oh my king! You someday let your loved daughter go away because she told you that she loved you like salt”.
Then the king hugged his daughter and asked her to forgive him for his mistake.
Hi guys. How are things? Today I want to tell you a story about a young boy who became the principal of his school. But every story has a beginning, so let’s start from it. It was a sunny day and John’s first day at school. He woke up very happy excited. At first, he thought that the other kids at school will laugh at him because he was wearing glasses. But then his parents told him that it’s not strange to wear glasses. Many kids wear glasses. That’s true but his classmates at school weren’t good kids. They were very bad kids. The school was near his home and he could go by himself, but his parents decided to drive him to school. When John and his parents went to the school, the other kids started laughing at him because of his glasses, his weight and his height. He wanted to leave but he couldn’t. The time was going by and his classmates were laughing at him, again and again, all day long. He hadn’t any friends but he didn’t care about it. He wanted to study and to be the first of the school. And he managed it. He was the brightest of the school. All the teachers knew that he was gifted. He could solve problems that his teachers couldn’t. Finally, the principal of the school decided to concede him his job title. John was very enthusiastic. He finally accepted the suggestion. All the kids stopped laughing at him. They were proud of him. Since then he was called “the gifted child”. That’s John’s story. I hope you liked it.
One day, I woke up early and I heard my cat meowing. I went out of my house and I saw my best friend Thomas. I followed Thomas and saw my cat sitting with my grandmother on a rocking chair. Thomas told me that I had covid-19 and he quickly took me to the hospital. Doctors told me that I only had one chance for my illness to go away, to bring a blue flower from a very high mountain. Thomas came to help me. We went to a high mountain and we didn’t find anything. We came back. I was terrified but Suddenly, I woke up and I understood that it was a scary dream.
How are things? I hope you’re well because I’m not. Last Saturday me and my family decided to go to the circus. The show was very amusing. I can say that this show was the last hour of my happiness for at least one week because when it finished and we were ready to get in the car and go back to our home I tripped on a big stone and I twisted my ankle. Now it hurts a lot but I hope that I’ll need three or four days more to come back to school. I’m very sorry but as you can understand our meeting tomorrow to my house is putting off, maybe for next week. I’m asking again for a thousand apologies.
