🎃Halloween is amazing

On the 31st of October, we celebrate the tradition of Halloween. Every little kid in America and other countries put on their costumes and they go and knock doors saying “Trick or Treat” hoping they could get some extra sweets.

Everyone has a different story about why we celebrate Halloween but everyone has the same information on it, Samhain. Samhain is an ancient Celtic festival which they light fires and wear costumes to welcome the harvest or as they say “the dark half of the year “.Celebrants believe that the barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, allowing more interaction between humans.

I think that we all are wondering the same thing, why we call it Halloween.    One difference between Halloween and Samhain is that Halloween is only for a night but Samhain is until November the 1st. Pope Gregory dedicated November the 1st to honour all the Saints. The evening before was known as All Hallow’s Eve and later Halloween.

Halloween is a lovely night either we go and knock on doors saying “Trick or Treat” either we light up fires and wear costumes inspired by ghosts. Unfortunately in my country, we don’t have Halloween, but we do have a similar celebration. I hope you will have fun on Halloween!
